Diverse buildings: conspicuous and unassuming, large and small, remodelled and new, museums, housing and office buildings, in urban or rural surroundings – they all make an appearance here as ‘characters’ in the unity of place, time and action defined by the exhibition. The dimension of time that marks the moving image of cinematic representation offsets the lack of a spatial dimension. The images record the everyday world in and around the buildings, which are ‘animated’ by traffic, pets, rain and – of course – people.
